Refund & Shipping Policy

Refund & Return Policy

We have a 30-day refund policy on all non-perishable goods.  If 30 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately we cannot offer a refund or exchange.  Please note that refunds will never include shipping fees.  In addition, all sale items are final.  Good Hart General Store's perishable items are exempt from being returned.  That being said, should you be unhappy with a perishable item, or should they arrive damaged, please contact us immediately to discuss the option of a new order or refund.  All refund requests on perishable goods are investigated case by case.

Pot Pie Shipping

Pot pies are shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays only (our pie shippers rest Thursday-Sunday).  Pies are shipped via insulated containers with ice packs  by UPS (included in displayed web pricing).  Pies ship UPS ground to most of MIchigan as well as Chicagoland, and typically ship overnight to other areas. 

Cookie and Gift Box Shipping

Cookies and gift boxes also ship via UPS.  Ground or 2nd Day shipping may be offered as options at check-out.

Non-Perishable Shipping

Non-perishable items such as gift items and apparel ship via USPS with a $10 flat rate shipping fee per order. For expedited shipping of non-perishable items, please complete your check-out and then contact us at 231.526.7661 or via email to proceed with UPS shipping and applicable shipping charges.

Signature for Delivery

We do not require signatures for delivery of UPS packages.

Should you require expedited shipping options not present on our website, please feel free to call or email us for assistance.

International Shipments

Our website is only able to process orders within the United States of America at this time.  Please contact us to discuss shipments outside the U.S.  Per the Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, pot pies may not ship outside the U.S.

Damaged Goods

Should your shipment or delivery arrive damaged in any way, please take pictures of both the packaging/box and all damaged products as soon as you receive them and email us immediately with an explanation. Please include in the email your order number, proper contact information, and all images. We will follow up immediately!  Unfortunately if you're unable to provide images, we will not be able to investigate the situation for a possible refund or credit.

Lost or Stolen Shipments

Unfortunately we are not responsible for lost or stolen shipments.  Keep careful watch for your Good Hart goodies!

Delayed Shipments

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee arrival dates.  Once orders leave our store, UPS/USPS transit delays may occur due to unexpected scenarios such as weather. We strongly suggest ordering in advance for special occasions.

Ship to a P.O. or A.P.O.

Unfortunately, we don't offer shipping to P.O. or A.P.O. boxes at this time.

Missed Deliveries

It is the responsibility of our customers to be available for receipt of goods ordered.  This is particularly important for perishable goods sent overnight.  Should a recipient not be home at the time of delivery, drivers will only leave the package at a recipient's door, or other secure location, if the driver believes it is safe and reasonable to do so (weather permitting). If the recipient is not available to receive the delivery and the driver determines the delivery location is safe, Good Hart General Store is not held responsible for any damaged/lost or stolen product.

Gift Shipments

For customers ordering gifts, we strongly encourage you to contact the recipeint of your gift and make them aware of the shipment date.  Inform them of any perishable items and appropriate handling instructions.  Pot pies must be immediately kept frozen and any additional perishables and/or food items should be moved inside away from any harsh elements.  Should your recipient refuse delivery of our shipment, it will be returned to us by UPS and no longer appropriate for consumption.  You will then need to place, and pay, for a new order as replacement.

Modifying Orders

Unfortunately we're unable to modify an online order once placed.  We're speedy and balls are juggling, plates spinning at all times.  Things move fast here in the 49737.

FedEx Requests

Unfortunately (once again), we're unable to ship via FedEx.  We're all about the brown here in Good Hart.
